The Government plans to introduce a biometric passport system by 2010, external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee has informed the Upper House of the Parliament.
"We have decided to introduce biometric passport system. We intend to complete the entire process by 2010," he responded during the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha. This would help check human trafficking he added.
